Village Bakehouse in Orange NSW is an inviting bakery style café with a welcoming ambience, serving our own Bakehouse Blend coffee and featuring modern breakfast and lunch cuisine, outstanding pastries and awarding winning pies.

 We are seeking a highly motivated industry professional to take our business to the next level of customer service and a customer experience rarely seen outside metropolitan areas and who will keep up with the trends that this industry has to offer. You will be a hands on manager who is excited to be able to showcase our onsite Bakery and train and mentor staff to be as passionate about their work as you are.

We are looking for a person who will persistently focus on the core goals of the business and motivate a team to ensure a fantastic work environment that is both financially and personally rewarding. The ideal person for this role will:

  • Oversee and run the daily operations of the business to ensure it maintains its projected financial targets

  • Positively represent the Village Bakehouse brand to the public to maximise the growth of the business

  • Develop a culture in the team that reflects a work environment that customers, employees and management perceive as the Number 1 hospitality employer to be associated with.



  • Train and empower all employees to operate at their maximum capacity to achieve the business goals

  • Showcase the onsite Bakery to bring out the best in the staff and the theatre baking concept

  • Develop and implement staff training programs

  • Motivate all staff to share the common goal of being an industry leader in the coffee and Bakehouse cultures

  • Lead by example with a can-do attitude, professional manner, great organisational skills, customer service focus and knowledge of the products

  • Focused on a safe workplace for both staff and customers

  • Be hands on in preparing and serving products to customers in peak service periods.

  • Maintain food safety standards

  • Ensure all food and coffee made is of the highest standard

  • Address specific customer concerns in a timely and professional manner to ensure we do not have a repeat occurrence

  • Communicate with the wholesale department and suppliers for all stock ordering, returns, new menu items and quality control of produce supplied.

  • Oversee and post all social media communication to ensure it is relevant and of a positive nature



  • 3+ years experience in a similar position in a fast paced food and hospitality environment

  • Proven business acumen and track record of leading a team of 10+

  • Experienced in rostering, labour percentages and P & L

  • Barista experience - drink coffee, live coffee, love coffee

  • A passion for outstanding products and customer service

  • Personable, approachable and willing to lead and grow with the team

  • Computer skills in word, excel, email, social media platforms, POS systems, Eftpos terminals

  • Above average problem solving skills

  • Available for a 7 day rotating roster, some weekends and early starts

Our after school juniors are pivotal to the day-to-day operations of our business. Their role is to prepare orders and offer exceptional service to our customers. Trained by our team of crew trainers, our juniors are coached and encouraged daily.



Our full time employees are trained to prepare and present our delicious products as well as providing our customers with the highest level of customer service daily.



Our baristas are trained to provide our customers with the richest, smoothest espresso products, constant on-going training allows our baristas to develop and adapt to market trends.



Our expertly trained supervisors are employed to ensure operational standards of our company are met daily. Ensuring that our customers have the best experience possible upon every visit is our aim.
