With a company history steeped in family tradition, Village Bakehouse is owned and operated locally by fourth-generation Dubbo baking family, the Stevensons. Brothers Bill, Rob and John can trace their baking history back to 1918 when their grandfather, Aussie Stevenson, established his first bakery.

Since 1994, Village Bakehouse has won over 100 awards for their premium and gourmet pies, taking out several prestigious national awards and garnering the attention of high profile media.
In 2003 Village Bakehouse was awarded their first national award, taking out the place of overall winner at the 14th annual Great Aussie Pie Competition. We continued to further exceed expectations when we were the first ever contender to win the prestigious award twice, with the company taking out overall winner at the Great Aussie Pie Competition again in 2005.
In 2006 Village Bakehouse were the overall runner up of the Great Aussie Pie Competition, winning 19 awards from 19 categories and missing out on the top award by 0.3 of a point. Village Premium Pies were also the inaugural winners of the Great Aussie Pie Contest, a national people’s choice competition with over 1700 entrants, held by popular lifestyle magazine, That’s Life in 2007.
Village Bakehouse was also the overall winner in two gourmet categories and winning eleven awards from eleven entries at the 2012 Official Great Aussie Pie Competition in Melbourne.
